The basilica is a pilgrimage for people to view a 12th century
carving of La Moreneta (The Black Virgin).
There are collections of art here ranging from
El Greco, Monet, Degas and Picasso.
Montserrat is a "must see" if your ever in Spain!

So many interesting things to look at.

Carvings of Christ and the 12 Apostles

A clock above the entrance to see the "Black Virgin"

We have seen so many churches and monasteries
around the world, but we were especially captivated by this one!
So much detail and such a powerful place.
